Representatives from the YMCA of Monroe County and the Town of Ellettsville will present information about the Northwest YMCA facility at an informal breakfast April 24.
Featured speakers at the event include Ellettsville resident Darby McCarty, chairman of the Smithville Charitable Foundation; Kit Klingelhoffer, of the YMCA board of directors; Roberta Kelzer, executive director of the YMCA of Monroe County; and Angie Raake, spokesperson for Peoples State Bank.
“All things that strengthen a community and help its people prosper and grow provide great benefit to the business and industries that serve it,” said McCarty in a March statement. She continued, “The YMCA will provide quality childcare that is close to home for working parents in Ellettsville and throughout northwest Monroe County. With its many other services included, it will be a true asset to all who live in the area.”
Ahead of the breakfast, which is the first of a planned series, Monroe County YMCA has asked Ellettsville residents to fill out an online survey at http://www.surveymonkey.com/583G3JB.
“We would love your feedback with this online survey, so we can best serve your needs,” said Sara Herold, Monroe County YMCA spokesperson in a press release. “Your valued input will help us with programming needs, staffing, and scheduling at the new facility.”
The event will be held at KRC Ellettsville at 5660 W. State Road 46 from 7:30 a.m. to 9 a.m. Those who wish to attend should RSVP with Becca Lockhart at 812-961-2169 or rlockhart@monroecountyymca.org.
The northwest YMCA is scheduled to open in the fall of 2013.
