Police in pursuit of Peoples State Bank robbery suspect

A suspect in the robbery of the Peoples State Bank at 601 E. Temperance St. on June 30 is still on the loose.

According to an Ellettsville Police Department press release, the man entered the bank at 2:10 p.m. and handed a bank employee a note demanding money. He retrieved the note after receiving the money and left through the northeast door.

He arrived and left on foot.

The suspect was described in the press release as being a White male in his late 50s, approximately 5-foot-3 and 180 pounds.

At the time of the robbery, he was wearing a black T-shirt with a design on the front, blue jeans cut off 4 to 5 inches above the ankle, white tennis shoes with black shoelaces and a rainbow-colored design on the heel, a white bandana with yellow stripes and black sunglasses, two bandages on his left cheek, and a white bag.

A police K-9 tracked his scent westward along the wood line behind the bank, but the trail was lost. The suspect’s bandana was recovered behind Monroe Square Apartments at 599 E. Temperance St.

Anyone with information regarding the robbery is encouraged to contact EPD officer Eric Chaudion or officer Zachary Michael. The EPD phone number is 812-876-2270.
