Officials approved $272,926 for the Stinesville Road bridge replacement project during the May 3 meeting of the Monroe County Board of Commissioners.
The money will go to Bean, Longest and Neff and South Central Regional Sewage District as the county prepares for bridge construction.
Bean, Longest and Neff will get $270,000 for a construction engineering contract. South Central Regional Sewage District will get $2,926 to “kill” the sewage line in a nearby easement, according to Monroe County Highway Engineering Department Director Bill Williams.
The county will not be responsible for the total cost of the project. Grants from the Federal Highway Administration through the Indiana Department of Transportation will reimburse the county 80% of both contracts. The total local cost will be $54,586.
